Glossary

RAG
Before answering, look it up. The model receives the relevant fragments of your documents and answers from them, citing them.
Agentic RAG
RAG that plans, queries several sources, verifies the evidence and queries again if it doesn't add up.
LLM
Large language model. It reasons and writes; everything else (context, tools, permissions) we put around it.
Guardrails
The assistant's limits: what it can see, what it can propose and what needs human approval. Everything is audited.
OPC UA
Open standard to read and write plant data securely and with an information model.
MQTT / Sparkplug B
Lightweight publish/subscribe messaging. Sparkplug B adds structure and state for industrial use.
Alarms and events
The SCADA alarm list and chronological event log: what fired, when and in what order.
OEE
Overall equipment effectiveness: availability × performance × quality. The number every production manager watches.
ISA-95
Standard that organises the factory in levels, from sensor to ERP. Our story is told in those levels.
NAMUR NOA
NAMUR Open Architecture: a second channel to get process data out without touching control.
On-prem / edge
On-prem: on your plant's server. Edge: on a device next to the machine or SCADA, without leaving the network.
Open-weights
Models whose weights can be downloaded and run on your own hardware, without sending data out.
